Hi friends - I’m Jenn.
I was born and raised in Southern California before relocating to Northern Virginia in my early 20s. The weather was definitely something to get used to, but I love the different seasons, some more than others (hello, fall!).
A few years after living in Northern Virginia, I met my husband. At the start of 2020 right as the world was shutting down due to the pandemic, we moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, for a new job opportunity and more room for our family to grow.
That season of life was super chaotic.
I’m thankful for everything that happened to us during that season, but moving and starting a family during a global pandemic in a brand-new city was no walk in the park.
When we moved from Virginia to North Carolina, we went from an 800 sq ft townhouse to a 3,000 sq ft single-family home. There was a lot more home to take on, from finding furniture to fill the home to a larger amount of cleaning to a more general home to maintain.
There were definitely periods of time when I became overwhelmed and stressed.
While trying to work full-time, raise two young boys (currently 3 and 1.5 years old), and maintain a home without outsourcing everything (because budgets and kids aren’t cheap); it can easily become overwhelming to think of everything that needs to be done on a daily basis.
That’s when I started researching and testing systems, tools, and products to help make managing life as simple as possible.
And because I thought, why the heck not add more to my plate? I decided to start this blog to share my journey in everything about our home, starting with bite-size ways to make cleaning, organizing, and maintaining your home seem more manageable.
One piece I’ll share with you as you research and scroll Instagram or Pinterest is that my home does not look anything like a “Pinterest” worthy home, and guess what? That’s ok! It may look like one for the 3.5 seconds right after cleaning, but life with kids, a dog, and a husband can sometimes get messy.
It’s learning to manage the things that stress you out so your kids can be kids and make your house feel like a home versus an untouchable magazine-worthy spread.
So, I’m glad you’re here and welcome to the manageable chaos of homeownership and life!
